Did you know that there are physical therapists that are certified and specialize in the assessment and treatment of specific problems? Did you also know that The Center for Balance is the only physical therapy clinic in Cincinnati that exclusively treats individuals suffering from dizziness, vertigo, and balance deficits?

Some of the most common complaints from our patients that we hear, after they have gone to a clinic that does not specialize in these symptoms, are, “Why did my doctor send me to a physical therapy practice that does not specialize in treating my symptoms”? or, “That other place just put me on leg machines, and I know my legs are fine”.

A common misconception in the medical and general population is that all physical therapy is the same, “Physical Torture”. The Center for Balance is a neurological based practice that specializes in the treatment of individuals suffering from dizziness, vertigo, and balance related disorders; no matter the cause. In other words, we are the only practice in Cincinnati dedicated to this specialty area. Yet, some orthopedic and general physical therapy clinics treat patients suffering from these symptoms, but do not specialize in this area, and valuable patient insurance visits and co-pays are wasted without relief of symptoms.

These symptoms can be frustrating, functionally disabling. and cause a feeling of hopelessness. Many of my dizzy and balance patients tell me, “You don’t know how I feel”, and I respond, “Yes, I do, I have had Meniere’s disease for 20 years and am very familiar with the dizziness, vertigo, and balance problems that go with it. I also have a hearing loss”.

This is the foundation of our practice, we do know how you feel. Our one-on-one treatment sessions are tailored for personal interaction with our patients; we don’t move from patient to patient leaving you to perform exercises on your own. I have been treating this patient population since 1995, and the therapists at The Center for Balance have been trained to identify your problems and develop the best treatment course.
