We focus on relieving your symptoms and get you back to the activities you love.

Dizziness, vertigo, and balance problems are not a normal part of aging!

As one of our patients put it, “You guys are a hidden jewel; I didn’t even know there was any type of treatment for my dizziness and balance issues.”

What Happens First Visit?

Your first visit will take approximately 60 minutes. We will discuss your history and perform physical testing to get to the bottom of your symptoms. Then we will create a plan of care to meet your individual needs.

First, we will ask you to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete some necessary paperwork. Arriving early to complete the forms allows us more time to evaluate you individually. For your convenience, you also may download the paperwork here on our website under the Patient forms Tab, complete them at home and bring them with you.

Please bring these items with you:

  • A copy of your insurance card(s)
  • A list of medications
  • Your driver’s license
  • A copy of any test results that have been performed for you.
  • You may also bring a copy of your doctors’ referral if you have one; Although, in the state of Ohio, you do not need a doctor referral for us to treat you.

On your first visit, a licensed physical therapist will perform a thorough evaluation (we leave no stone un-turned), to identify your symptoms including dizziness, vertigo, balance problems, and if you are at a risk of falling.

Your physical therapist will explain the findings of their assessment, so you understand why you are having symptoms and how best to treat them.

Our evaluation and treatment programs were developed by Dr. Shumrick and our staff, and continually updated and improved each year to ensure the best quality of care available for you.

Why Choose Us?

We get this question a lot.

The answer is simple: We are specialists trained in treating individuals suffering from dizziness, vertigo, and balance deficits. Our sole practice concentration is in this area, and we have developed specialized evaluation and treatment techniques to get you better quicker that are unique to our clinics.

Our clinics are designed in a comfortable atmosphere, not a gym-like setting typical in traditional clinics. Another big benefit is that our patients are surrounded by patients with similar symptoms.

Our treatment session(s) are one-on-one clinician to patient, and last approximately 60 minutes. We will give you our undivided attention. We won’t put you in a corner to perform an exercise while we move to another patient like many traditional clinics do.

What About Insurance?

Insurance coverage is certainly confusing, but do not worry! We take the hassles out of it for you.

  • We check all insurance coverage benefits for you.
  • We will not surprise you with unwanted charges or hidden fees.
  • Once you come for your first visit, you will know exactly how much, if any, co-pays you may be responsible for.
  • We also track your allotted number of visits or monetary caps, so you do not go over.
  • Insurances not listed may be accepted and we will check for you.

Below is the list of insurances we currently accept.

*If your insurance is not listed, many carriers will still pay for our services because we are a specialty clinic in the Cincinnati area that exclusively treats people suffering from dizziness, vertigo, and imbalance. Just call us and we will verify and track how many visits you have.

  • Anthem
  • AARP Medicare
  • Cigna
  • Humana
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • Medical Mutual of Ohio
  • Molina
  • UMR
  • United Health Care
    Do I need a Referral

No. You may make an appointment without a referral from a doctor in the state of Ohio. Medicare allows an initial visit, but does require a doctor signature on our plan of care. After the initial visit we send a plan of care to your doctor for review and signature if applicable.
